You could probably introduce a 'WTFriday Special' series, with each week presenting another of Kago's works.
I like his stuff very much, altough I still couldn't figure out if he draws them in some kind of asylum...

Isto parece mais uma idéia sobre o Brasil, um pouco distorcida, mas é uma idéia de Brasil.
A mix of many cultures that ends in a thing like sh*t. E que está tentando formar um padrão.
é uma imagem bem elaborada.
é possivel imaginar um monte de coisa vendo esta imagem... até um moedor de carne gigante moendo pessoas. '-' meuito tenso

wow this seem pretty racist, it look like every people from other race need to be dead and become a japanese?

i dont think its racist it shows peoples individuality being take away as they are turned into indistinguishable office workers

I have to agree with UKyuki. You can see all the different types of people being ground up in the "cooperate" grinder by a (I'm assuming by the periwinkle nail polish) giant tyrannical woman such as an American greaser, a kimono wearing geisha, and for whatever reason the naked black woman in the back. Why she's naked is for only you the viewer to decide.

Reminds me of a quote from Amélie Nothomb from the book Ni d'Adam ni d'Eve (Tokyo Fiancée)... It explained how people in Japan became working fodder (from the expression cannon fodder).

Am I worried more about how weird Japan is or am I more worried about how idiots like you seem to manage to breathe in this world?

Um, the idea is that everything that makes us original and interesting and individual is killed, resulting in a homogenized whole.

it's a criticism of japanese society - or even modern culture overall.

if you didn't get that, you're already lost.

Interesting that a Japanese person has actually understood the pressures of Japanese society and what it amounts to. Being one myself, I can understand why some move to America....
